Terms and conditions
These terms cover use of this website and how workshop and private event enquiries work. They are written to be read, not skipped. Your written session confirmation records the price, date, numbers, deposit amount and payment dates. The cancellation and refund policy below applies to both public workshops and private events; the confirmation does not replace it.
1. Who we are
Power Salads is the name of this website and cooking studio. It is operated by PAPADELI FOODS LIMITED, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 06332859).
Registered office: 31a Old Sneed Road, Old Sneed Road, Bristol, England, BS9 1ES
VAT number: GB794123323
You can contact us at [email protected].
2. Enquiries are not bookings
Buttons and forms on this website send us an enquiry. They do not create a booking, reserve a place or take payment. We have not built instant booking or online payment into this website. A session is only booked when we have replied to your enquiry, agreed the details with you and confirmed them in writing by email.
- We do not guarantee that any workshop or date is available until we confirm it.
- Workshop descriptions, durations and menus are guides and may change, for example to reflect seasonal ingredients.
3. Prices
Prices on this website are indicative starting points, shown in pounds sterling (GBP) per person. The confirmed price depends on the session, date, group size and menu, and will be stated in our written confirmation before you commit. Any deposit amount and payment dates are stated in writing before you commit. A deposit is part-payment of the total price. Its refund or retention is governed by section 4 below, not by a blanket non-refundable condition.
4. Changes, cancellations and deposit refunds
The following policy applies to all public workshops and private events. To cancel or request a new date, email us using the contact details above. Notice is measured from when your email reaches us to the scheduled start of the session:
- 14 days or more before the session: you may reschedule once, subject to availability, or cancel for a full refund of payments made, including your deposit. Credit towards another session is available only if you choose it.
- 7 to 13 days before: you may request a new date, subject to availability. If you cancel, we may retain only the portion of your deposit needed to cover ingredients already ordered that cannot reasonably be reused or refunded. Any remaining payment is refunded; a deposit is not automatically forfeited.
- Fewer than 7 days before, or non-attendance: we may charge for the net losses directly caused by the cancellation, up to the agreed session price. The full price is not automatically due: we deduct costs saved and income from replacement bookings, and refund any payments above those losses.
We take reasonable steps to reduce cancellation losses, explain any deductions in writing and return refundable payments to the original payment method. Any payment already made, including a deposit, counts towards the final amount; the same loss is not charged twice. These terms do not restrict your statutory rights.
You may transfer your place to another person at any time by letting us know in advance. For private group sessions, final numbers are agreed in writing and the price is based on the confirmed number of guests.
Under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013, services provided for a specific date or period, such as a leisure activity, may not carry the usual 14-day cancellation right. If this applies, we will tell you in your confirmation.
5. Changes and cancellations by us
If we have to cancel or change a session, for example because of illness, a safety issue or insufficient numbers, we will tell you as soon as possible and offer a new date or a full refund of any money you have paid. We are not responsible for travel, accommodation or other costs you may have arranged.
6. Allergies and dietary requirements
Please tell us about allergies and dietary requirements in your enquiry. We will do our best to adapt menus and to take care in preparing food. However, our kitchen handles gluten, dairy, eggs, nuts, peanuts, sesame, soya, fish, shellfish, celery, mustard and other allergens, and we cannot guarantee that any dish or the studio environment is free of any allergen. You are responsible for deciding whether participation is suitable for you or your group.
7. Taking part safely
Workshops involve knives, heat and hot surfaces. Participants must follow tutors’ instructions and take reasonable care. Our public workshops are for adults aged 18 and over; arrangements for younger participants in private sessions are agreed in advance. Drinks supplied as part of workshops and private events are non-alcoholic. Please let us know if you have any access or mobility needs so that we can plan with you.
8. Photography
We may take photographs of food, the studio and, with permission, of participants. We will ask before photographing or sharing images that clearly identify you. You are welcome to photograph your own dishes.
9. Recipes and website content
Recipes, articles, photographs and designs on this website belong to Power Salads or its licensors. You may use recipes for personal cooking and may share links to our pages. Please do not copy or republish our content commercially without our written permission.
10. Our responsibility
Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or anything else that cannot be limited by law. Otherwise, and as far as the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, and our total liability for any session is limited to the price you paid for it. This does not affect your statutory consumer rights.
11. Information on this website
We aim to keep the website accurate and up to date, but we can’t promise that it is free of errors. Recipe timings and yields are guides: ovens, equipment and ingredients vary.
12. Privacy and cookies
How we handle personal information is explained in our privacy policy and cookie policy.
13. Complaints
If something is not right, tell us as soon as you can at [email protected] and we will do our best to put it right.
14. Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction, although if you are a consumer living elsewhere in the UK you may also have the right to bring proceedings in your local courts.
15. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The version in force when we confirm your session applies to that session.
